Denholme Town Council is inviting bids for the Community Pot, The closing date for submitting a bid will be 25 October 2019, and the voting event will take place at our Christmas Carol Concert on 6 December. There will also be an opportunity to vote online in the two weeks prior to the Carol Concert.
The rules are broadly the same as in previous rounds. The maximum amount you can bid for will be £600 and the total amount in the pot for this round is £2,500.
If you want to summit a bid please make sure it reaches the Town Clerk no later than 25 October. You can send it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org (recommended) or drop a copy in at the DMI community centre.
Denholme Town Council launched the Community Pot in 2015 to allow community groups, charities and volunteer organisations in Denholme to apply for one off grants. Denholme Town Council allocates funds of up to £2500 per Community Pot to support small scale projects in the Town.
Grants were rewarded to the following groups in Summer 2019.
Denholme Youth Cafe
To buy gardening equipment that will help transform a small section in the park and will encourage and support wildlife.
Denholme Primary School
To launch a recorder tuition/ensemble to extend their music offer children aged between 7 and 11 years old.
Denholme New Allotments
To contribute towards the cost of new security fencing.
DMI Community Centre
To provide information, support and activity for people with dementia and their carers in the heart of the village.
To help cover costs for room hire and the speakers who attend the group meetings fortnightly.
Denholme Scout Group
To replace and improve cooking equipment so that young people can learn cooking skills.
