About our Library

We are a Community Library run by a team of Volunteers. From January 2019 Denholme Town Council took over the running of the Library.

The Library has a large selection of books for Children and Adults – Audio Books, Crime Books, Fiction and Non Fiction, Large Print and History Books.

There are 2 PCs available to access the internet, library resources, job search, newspaper articles etc and a photocopier.

Library FAQs

If you already hold a Bradford Library Card you are already a member of the Denholme Community Library. If not you can join at any branch including Denholme. Joining Forms available at the Library or you can join online.

You will need to bring some identification such as a utility bill, driving licence anything that shows you and your address.

If you joined online we will need to see identification before the Card can be collected.

You can borrow up to 25 items at any one time. Children can also borrow 25 items.

In all the Libraries you will need to bring your Library Card to issue the books requested.

As a Community Library we are now able to collect any fines. The money collected will be reinvested in Denholme Library. The details of the charges are in all Libraries.

Please return or renew books on time to avoid fines. There are no charges for under 16s and no charges for over 60s. (Fines under £10 can be collected and kept by Denholme Library. Any over £10 have to be paid at a library run by Bradford Council eg Keighley, Shipley and Bradford.

All books on loan are for three weeks, with renewal possible as long as no one else is waiting for the book. CDs and DVDs are available in the regular Bradford Libraries these can be hired on a weekly basis.

You can visit any Library in the Bradford area to borrow books and use their services.

The Card issued by Denholme Library is valid at any of the Bradford Libraries.

You can also return books to Denholme Library when borrowed from other Bradford Libraries.

Please remember the Volunteers are there to help. If they cannot answer your questions they will know who can. Please ask!
