The Felix & Rupert Greenwood Memorial Travel Fund
This Fund was set up in February 1994 by Mrs Hazel Greenwood, in memory of her sons who lost their lives in the Bradford City Fire Disaster. The Fund is for young people, living in Denholme, between the ages of 10 – 25 years, to broaden their cultural, educational and personal development through the experience of travel.
Grants of up to £200 are available as long as the applicant meets the age and domicile criteria. If any application is urgent e.g. to help with the deposit for the proposed trip, the Trustees can and do meet as necessary. All the trustees ask is that the young person comes back and tells them all about their trip. It is also hoped that some of the details can be used to promote the Fund, and that the young person will promote the Fund around the village and in his or her school.
An application form can be downloaded using the link at the bottom of the page and are available in local schools, the Youth Café, and the Mechanics Institute.
A Denholme Town Counciller acts as one of the Trustees to the Fund and the Town Clerk helps with some administration.
